La visión del extranjero en los manuales de español con fines específicos

Abstract : Teaching Spanish for specific purposes started to be consolidated at the end of the final two decades of the 20th century with the aim of adapting to the new demands of the job market. Textbooks were therefore created which attempted to meet the new business demands, particularly linguistically: to develop written and oral comprehension and expression to adequately communicate with a Spanish speaker. Within this social framework, this research tries to identify the image of the other, the foreigner who emerges from studying the contents, teaching activities and resources used in five textbooks for teaching business Spanish. The conclusion recognises the changing view of the other, which currently surpasses territorial and cultural barriers to fit in with the interests of the current context: globalisation.
